I don't know mark up on yam oil but dealer lost $800 worth of service work on sleds. My buds used Rage needed a lot of work to meet his standards $600 another $180 on my sled. Lost $800 revenue over 4 quarts of oil & we hooked up with a better dealer. Greedy or Stupid?

4 Stroke Oils
How about an article on 4 stroke oils for sleds? OEM oil vs other brand oils, blends & fully synthetics. I had a heated discussion with Yamaha dealer that refused to use Mobile 1 0-30 fully synthetic oil in my sled over Yamaha 4s blend. Others may be having the same resistance which IMHO is ridiculous. Is there a valid reason to use ONLY OEM oils in a 4 stoke sled.

Last @ Pat's March 1 my buds Rage had Pat's mount mirrors. I had nuts changed on my Attack EC ohlin but can't remember if Feb or Jan. Also a guy blew up 8ooPro X chaincase on trail that day in front of me when I was riding a lone & then he showed up at Pat's with his group & he bought a used 06 Attack. He said he was pushing prox hard with me on his butt when it blew & noticed I was not working as hard as him. I told him I noticed that too & felt bad for him & figured he was about to pull over from exhaustion when sled blew. He laughed & bought Attack from Kip.

I really do enjoy my time at Pat's their service is great. Pat lets us use the Rhino & we drive to the bar for burgers while the sleds are being serviced. My buddy was driving the Rhino & we were laughing like 12 year olds almost peed my pants so funny. I like Chad a lot too & came close to buying a sled from him in Hancock. They are the best Yamaha dealers by far. You are lucky to have them so close to Otown. It is 100 miles by trail from my door step to Pat's but I can do it in about 2 hours during the week. Then gas up at Pat's & be home for supper. We should meet around Mass City or Greenland & you can show me the sites.

mm700 & yoo (you) used to post trail conditons from your areas to help promote your local riding industry. The SG trail condition board timed out & SG Tech Talk & Dear Snowgoer nearly timed out or timed out. Snowmobilenews forum was down to 3 posts. Trashers going strong but same guys all the time. If you were attacked was it lack of effective moderation? Other snowmobile sites ask questions, offer opinions, give & take tech support, voice opinions on new line ups good & bad. This board just got slower & slower until it was a bunch of blank pages. My question is what happend here that posting interaction all but dried up?
Rode a lot in your neck of the woods this winter & became good customer at Pat's. I purchased new 2007 non current Attack in early January & love it. Do you still have your Apex mountain?

Forget what is going on with AC! What is going on with this board? This has to be the slowest board ever. What happend to new topics? Nothing new to post? Has it all been said or asked? Have you moved to better boards? What happened?

Learned how to set Yamaha Attack 150 belt deflection today. Not so bad but had to remove secondary. Doo set up was better. Popsickle how ya doing with that cat belt?

Yamaha, poo & doo have not released 09 lineups yet but coming soon. Eveything that has been released was early mid season release accept for AC all 09s are on their website.

Also try 09 Nytro xtx at 144 inches maybe just what you need. Nytro has new anti braking feature in 4s engine. 900 poo will have you walking thru deep stuff sooner or later. Poo 900 may ride good, not sure you decide, but sooner or later poor belt wear, vibration & poor mpg will piss you off. Look at 09s.

Was pushing 3500 miles on doo 800 belt before I traded for new Attack & still would do 100+ mph. Doo easy to set belt deflection yamaha a pain in butt & will need dealer help tomorrow & AC don't know. Attack loosing it at about 1700 miles so know it needs belt adjustment. You will eventually feel it & know when to adjust.Yamaha will not over rev all electronically controlled so you need to know your sled & when it has lost peak performance.

Would like to see Poo finally go to market with poo 4s engine & forget the Weber 4s engine. Doo finally on board with 4s now but has a lot to prove before I would purchase. Yamaha way out in front in 4s world. 2s seems like old tech now. Etek too risky for my lean green. Yamaha did get it right in 2003 others following. Anything 4s gets attention.

Sounds like belt defection is too loose. Heat not a good thing so something slipping. Check deflection directions.

I rode the entire 2008 Yamaha line in Hancock, MI. The factory reps let us ride all afternoon as was 3 day event & we got there 1PM the last day & was extra sleds available with each group so we took them for a spin with each group demo ride. It was a blast!! Month later I bought an 07 Attack GT & my buddy bought a used 06 Rage. We are done with 2s forever. The 08 FX Nytro hooked me pulled like a raped ape tracked straight aborbed bumps well. Good for stand up good sit down ride. 08 & 09 Nytro could be as popular as the doo MXZ when the word gets out as more people test ride. The Nytro really surprised me. Vector & Apex really are simlar sleds this year I prefer the 150 over the 120 & the 136 over the 121 track. The Venture is a good riding 2up but 144 inch track is a long sled. The Phaser is fun little sled but not enough HP for me. Yamaha fit & finish is best in the industry.
I have not been able to ride an AC Jag but like the features and looks easier to service under the hood than the Yamahas. The $10,500 price of the Jag is way too much for 120HP 4s when compared to Yamaha. 120hp Jag engine is a good engine but rest of AC 4s getting old in the tooth compared to Yamaha. My gut feeling is AC will release more 4s in 09 as twinspar a good strong chassis ideal for 4s.
